TermDefinition
Mitosis The second stage of the cell cycle during which the cells nucleus divides into two new nuclei and one set of DNA is distributed into each “daughter cell”
Endocytosis A process where the cell membrane takes particles into the cell by changing shape and ingulfing the particles.
Osmosis Is the difference of water across the cell membrane (cells require water)
Facilitated diffusion Proteins in the cell membrane form channels through which sugars could pass.
Diffusion The process by which molecules move from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration.
Interphase Cell grows, copies it’s DNA + prepares to divide
The difference between passive transport and active transport The difference between active transport and passive transport is one uses energy and the other doesn’t
Cell cycle The series events in which a cell grows, prepares for division, an divides to form two “daughter cells”.
Replication The process by which a cell makes a copy of the DNA in its nucleus before cell division.
