What is a symbiotic fungi and give an example Two species that live close together/on each other where at least one/both benefit- eg Mycorrhizae
What is rhizopus? Common bread mold
What is asexual reproduction in rhizopus called? Sporulation
In rhizopus, what forms in unfavourable conditions? Zygospores
Is rhizopus asexual or sexual? Mainly asexual, sexual reproduction ONLY takes place in unfavourable conditions
Name two functions of rhizoids anchors fungus and secretes enzymes for digestion
What is the purpose of the stolon Causes rhizopus to spread out
What is a group of hypha called? Mycelium
What is the function of the columella? Feeds the spores and separates them from the sporangium
Are spores haploid or diploid? Haploid
Is yeast prokaryotic or eukaryotic? eukaryotic
What is reproduction is yeast called? Budding
Is yeast asexual or sexual? Asexual
What are cell walls made out of in fungus? Chiton
What is food stored as in yeast? lipids and glycogen
