AR May cause gastrointestinal distress
SC Patient should take macrolides with food. Clarithomycin may leave a metallic taste in one's mouth. The first dose of azithromycin is a loading dose, which is twice the normal daily dose.
RC Reconstituted azithromycin injection is good for 24 hours when refrigerated; oral suspension will last 10 days if refrigerated. Clarithromycin does not need to be refrigerated but will expire in 14 days. Erythromycin for IV must be used within 8 hours
