Earth's Atmosphere

| altitude | (elevation) the distance above sea level |
| trophosphere | the layer of the atmosphere in which Earth's weather occurs |
| stratosphere | the layer of the atmosphere that contains the ozone layer |
| mesosphere | the layer of the atmosphere that protects Earth's surface from being hit by most meteoroids |
| thermosphere | the layer of the atmosphere that extends outward into space |
| pollutants | harmful substances in the air, water or soil |
