Rock Cycle

| Metamorphic Rock | Rocks that are formed due to heat from the mantle and pressure from layers above. |
| Igneous rock | Rocks that form when either lava on Earth's surface or Magma under Earth's surface cools. |
| Sedimentary rock | Rocks that form from sediments being compacted and cemented together. |
| Melting | The process that occurs when rocks become magma. |
| Magma | The process that occurs when rocks become magma. |
| Sediment | Tiny rock particles made from the weathering process |
| Lava | Melted rock that comes onto Earth's surface |
| Compacting and Cementing | The processes that turn sediments into sedimentary rocks. |
| Anywhere | Where the rock cycle begins. |
| Cooling | The process that turns magma and lava into igneous rock. |
| Upwelling | As the tectonic plates move, the lower rocky crust may be lifted up and exposed to the exterior of Earth. |
