Mixtures/Substances

TermDefinition
Mixture Two or more substances are mixed.
Substance Material or matter of which something is made.
Homogenous Composition stays the same throughout the sample.
Heterogeneous Composition varies throughout the sample
Solution Particles mixed together and are too small to see or filtered.
Suspension Particles mixed together and are big enough to see when mixed, and can be filtered .
Separation Substances that can be removed from a mixture, and still keep their physical properties.
Soluble A substance that is able to dissolve in a liquid.
Melting Point Temperature at which a solid changes to a liquid.
