How do you calculate the average pulse rate of a blackworm? Count the pulse rate more than once, add those pulse rates together, then divide by the number of pulse rates taken.

What 2 organelles are found only in plant cells and not animal cells? chloroplasts and cell walls
How is a cell wall different than a cell membrane? A cell wall provides a plant cell structure, a cell membrane is part of both animal and plant cells and forms a flexible barrier that allows some materials to move in and out of the cell.
What are some organisms you might find in a pond? Microorganisms, bacteria, plants, lemna, fish, etc.
The scientific name for duckweed is? lemna
The 4 protists we studied were? Amoeba, Paramecium, Euglena, Volvox
Amoeba move around using ? pseudopodia
Euglena and Volvox move around using? flagellum / flagella
Paramecium move around using? cilia
Why are volvox and euglena green? They have some plant-like characteristics, such as a chloroplast.
A new growth off of a hydra is called? A bud
Hydra eat what organism? Daphnia
Why are daphnia important on the food chain? They reproduce quickly and feed more complex organisms such as the hydra.
Why does fresh bread mold faster than store-brand? Store-brand bread often has preservatives that stop mold from growing.
