| Mild hypothermia symptoms | fatigue, slurred speech, poor coordination, clumsiness, confusion, poor judgment, Inappropriate behavior, shivering, tachycardia, tachypnea |
| Moderate hypothermia temperature | 28°C-32°C (82.4-89.6°F) |
| Moderate hypothermia symptoms | depressed mental status, no shivering, depressed respirations, slow pulse or irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure, pale or cyanotic color, hallucinations, coma , death |
| Server (profound) hypothermia temperature | < 28°C (< 82°F) |
| Severe (profound) hypothermia symptoms | absence of respirations, absence of pulse, ventricular fibrillation, dilated pupils, unresponsive pupils, coma, death |
| Stage I hypothermia | conscious and shivering |
| Stage II hypothermia | impaired LOC, no shivering |
| Stage III hypothermia | unconscious, unable to shiver, have vital signs |
| Stage IV hypothermia | no more vital signs |
| Treatment for mild hypothermia | warm blankets |
| Treatment for moderate hypothermia | warm blanket, warm fluids |
| Treatment for severe (profound) hypothermia | may require hemodialysis; peritoneal dialysis or colonic irrigation to increase core body temperature |
