TermDefinition
Accuracy How close a measurement is to the true or accepted value.
Precision How close measurements of the same item are to each other.
= Equal to
> The value on the left is greater than the value on the right. (greater than)
< The value on the left is less than the value on the right. (less than)
Estimates A rough calculation with rounded numbers
Decimal Form The longhand way to record numbers.
Standard Form The shorthand way to record numbers.
Raw Data Data collected in the field or lab.
Tally Records the number of times a value is recorded in a data set.
Percentage Expressed as a fraction of 100
Rate Measurement of how data changes over time.
