Population Density the number of individuals in a given area
Environmental Resistance factors that limit population growth
Rule of 70 70/(percentage growth rate)= x years until the population doubles
Resistance a measurement of how much an ecosystem changes after a disruption (little change=high resistance)
Resilience the measure of how quickly the ecosystem can bounce back grom the disturbance, ecosystem recovery
Periodic occurring at repeated intervals EX: the tides
Episodic occurring at occasionally and at irregular intervals EX: El Nino
Ecological Succession gradual changes in species composition
Inertia ability of a living system to survive moderate disturbances
Serotiny the dependency on heat during the seed production cycle
Swidden slash and burn agriculture
