TermDefinition
Digital Footprint Information left behind by a person after leaving which shows their online activity.
Cookies Data that a website attaches information on to be able to retrieve that information later.
Geolocation The use of technology to find the whereabouts of a certain person through digital information. (GPS and IP)
Metadata Data that gives information about other pieces of data.
Data Information that has been processed and translated into a form that is easier to transport.
Spreadsheet An electronic document containing data and information in the form of columns and rows
Browser History A list of different websites a user has visited that contains when and where they visited that website.
Digital Literacy Having the knowledge to be able to understand and comprehend computer language in this every growing technology based society.
Blog A frequently updated website that contains new information every time it is visited.
Dossier A collection of documents pertaining similar information about the same subject.
Derogatory Showing a bad attitude towards someone or showing disrespect.
Social Networking The use of social media to connect with other people you know. (Business, family and friends)
Viral Something quickly widespread across the world through social media.
Profile A short description of someone's life. (Work, relationships, family, likes and dislikes).
Privacy Settings Interchangeable settings that allow the user to see content or receive content from people they like.
