Atoms, Elements, Periodic Table

Atom smallest unit of matter
Matter anything that takes up space and has mass
Nucleus where all mass of an atom is located
Neutrons subatomic particle with NO charge
Protons subatomic particle with positive charge
Electrons subatomic particle that is negatively charged
Element simplest form of all matter that cannot be broken down by ordinary means
Atomic Number tells the number of protons
Periodic Table organizes and categorizes elements by group and period
Atomic Mass protons plus neutrons gives this number
Group vertical columns on the periodic table
