Air Pressure Vocabulary Terms from Assignments #3 through #5

air pressure the amount of force pushing on a surface by the air particles above and around us
altitude the height above the Earth’s surface (sea level)
compress pushing or squeezing together
equilibrium when two or more forces are balanced

barometer a tool that measures air pressure
millibar (mb) unit used to measure air pressure
