what is the goal in Science? to know how to answer Scientific Questions
what is the Scientific Method a step by step method.
what is an Observation? something you see, smell, taste, hear, and touch.
what is a Inference? what you think is going to happen
what is a Quantitative Observation? has numbers as in, size/length, temp, volume, and mass/weight.
what is a Qualitative observation? descritptions like, color, shape, texture, and behavier.
how is a Scientific question different from any old question? an old question we already know the answer.
give an example of a Scientific question. How long has the Earth been a planet?
what is a Hypothesis? a Hypothesis is a possiable answer to a problem.
what is the purpose of doing an Experiment or a study? so we know if the Hypothesis is right or wrong.
What is a variable? anything that can effect the results of an experment.
What is an independent variable? the variable that you can change in a experment.
What is a dependent variable the variable you measure.
What is a control group? Represents the "normal."
What is an experimental group? the group that you change.
What is data? it is info that you collect.
What is a conclusion? was your Hypothesis right? if you were wrong, try something else.
What is a scientific theory? explains why things work.
What is a scientific law? it's a rule of nature that describes.
