Biodiversity

Ecological Succession Gradual change in the living communities that follows a disturbance.
Biodiversity The variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem.
Endemic Species A species that is restricted geographically to a particular area.
Species Diversity Species diversity is defined as the number of different species present in an ecosystem and relative abundance of each of those species.
Ecosystem Diversity The variation in the ecosystems found in a region or the variation in ecosystems over the whole planet.
Genetic Diversity The total number of genetic characteristics in the genetic makeup of a species.
Habitat Fragmentation Landscape modification.
Threatened Species Any species that is likely to become an endangered species.
Endangered Species A species of animal or plant that is seriously at risk of extinction.
Limiting Factors A resource which limits the growth, distribution, or abundance of an organism or population in an ecosystem.
Invasive Species Non-native to the ecosystem under consideration whose introduction causes is likely to cause economic or environmental harm.
