| work | when a force is used to move an object over a distance or cause change |
| chemical energy | energy that is stored in particles of matter |
| force | push or pull |
| mechanical energy | energy of motion or moving parts |
| radiant energy | energy on invisible waves |
| thermal energy | energy that all matter has because its particles are in motion |
| electrical energy | the energy that comes from moving electrons |
| potential energy | energy that is stored and ready to be used. |
| kinetic energy | energy that is being used |
| laws of conservation | energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be changed to a different form |
| conserve | to save in respect to energy it is never destroyed even in another form |
| transfer | to move something to another place |
| transform or convert | to change |
| heat | transfer or flow of thermal energy to colder object |
