Energy vocabulary

| energy | The ability to do work or cause change |
| work | when a force is used to move an object over distance or cause change. |
| force | A push or a pull |
| chemical energy | Energy that is stored in the particles of matter (H20,food,battries ,plant,etc.) |
| mechanical energy | energy of motion or moving parts (bicycle,wind,turbine,ocean,waves,arms,legs) |
| radiant energy | energy that travels on invisible waves (sunlight(solar energy),heat from fire ,x-rays,microwaves) ect |
| thermal energy | the energy that all matter has because its particles (atoms,molecules ) are in motion |
| electrical energy | the energy that comes from moving electrons ( cans be static or current ) |
| potential energy | energy that is stored and ready to be used |
| kinetic | energy that is working or in motion |
| law of conservation of energy | energy cannot be created or destroyed but it can be changed (transformed,converted)to a different from of transferred or transformed |
| conserve | to save in respect to energy it means that energy is never created or destroyed but always stays the same amount even when it is transformed |
| transfer | to move something from one place or an object to another |
| transformed | other words that means same thing as the word Change |
| heat | the transferr or flow of thermal energy from a warmer object to cooler object |
