| energy | The ability to do work or cause change |
| force | A push or a pull |
| chemical energy | energy that is stored in the particles of matter (H20 food batteries |
| work | When a FORCE is used to MOVE an object over a distance or cause change. |
| Mechanical Energy | Energy of motion or moving parts (bicycle, wind turbine, ocean waves, wind, arms and legs) |
| Radiant Energy | Energy that travels on invisible waves (sunlight (solar energy), heat from fire, x-rays, microwave) |
| Thermal Energy | The energy that all matter has because its particles (atoms, molecules) are in motion. |
| Energy | Energy is stored and ready to be used. |
| Kinetic Energy | Energy that is working or in motion |
| Law of Conservation of Energy | Energy cannot be created or destroyed, but it can be changed (transformed, converted) to a different form or transferred from one object or another |
| Conserve | It means that every is never created or destroyed, but always stays the same amount. |
| Transfer | to move something from one place or one object to another-the same type of energy can pass along from one object to another |
| Transform or Convert | Other words that mean the same thing as the word CHANGE. |
| Heat | The transfer or flow of thermal energy from a warmer object to a cooler object. |
| Work | When a Force is used to MOVE an object over a distance or cause change. |
