| Energy | The ability to work or cause change. |
| work | When a FORCE is used to MOVE an object over a distance or cause change. |
| force | A PUSH or PULL |
| chemical energy | Energy that is stored in the particles of matter / h20,food,batteries,plants. |
| mechanical energy | Energy of motion or moving parts / bicycles,wind turbine,ocean waves. |
| Radiant energy | Energy that travels on invisible waves/sunlight,/solar energy,heat from fire x rays,microwave. |
| Thermal energy | The energy that all matter has because its particles are in motion. |
| electrical energy | The energy that comes from moving electrons. |
| potential energy | Energy that is stored and ready to be used. |
| kinetic energy | Energy that is working or in motion. |
| law of conservation of energy | energy cannot be created or destroyed,but can be changed to a different form or transferred from one object to another. |
| conserve | To save. in respect to energy ,it means that energy is never created or destroyed,but always stays the same amount,even when its transformed or transferred. |
| transfer | to move something from one place to another or one object to another the same type of energy can be passed along from one object to another. |
| transform or convert | other words that mean the same thing as the word CHANGE heat the transfer or flow of thermal energy from a warmer object to a cooler object. |
