QUESTIONANSWER
When nouns are not working as a subject or subject complement, they are typically _________ Object, __________ Objects, Direct, Indirect
Direct Object (DO) Receives the action of the verb
Indirect Object (IO) falls between the verb and the DO.
Object of the Preposition (OP) Ends the prepositional phrase; answers the question of the preposition

Label the sentence: We baked our aunt a cake. baked= verb, cake= DO, aunt= IO, (we=subject)
Label the sentence: The movie about the surfers was really interesting. about the surfers= prep phrase, surfers= OP
Label the sentence: Many scholars believe Shakespeare the best writer of all time. of all time= prep phrase, time = OP, believe= verb, writer= OC Shakespeare= DO

DON'T look for subject, linking verb, subject complement
IO must be a ____ noun
