Observe/observations To use five senses to collect information
Compare To find items that have similar features or properties.
Knowledge Results are based on facts and evidence.
Infer/ inferences An explanation that is based on available evidence, but isn’t a direct observation.
Contrast To find items that are have different features or properties.
Communicating How scientists share results of their investigations.
Astronomer A scientist who studies space, stars, planets, & constellations.
Astronomy The study of space, stars, planets, & constellations.
Classify To organize items into groups based on similarities.
Botanist A scientist who studies plants.
Taxonomist A scientist who identifies types of living things & classifies them by how they are related.
Natural world The science study of everything natural.
Taxonomy The study of types of living things and classifying them.
Order To arrange things by when they happen or by their size.
Drawing conclusions The process of studying or testing something to learn more about it.
Zoologist A scientist who studies animals, usually wild animals.

Celsius Temperature is measured on a scale that water freezes at 0 degrees.
Fahrenheit Temperature is measured on a scale that water freezes at 32 degrees.
Hypothesis An educated guess based on information to explain what will happen in an investigation.
