Moon Phases

New Moon moon phase when the moon is between the Sun and the Earth
Waxing Crescent moon phase when the moon is increasing in light and is less than half lit
First Quarter moon phase when the moon is seen as half lit from the Earth following the New Moon
Waxing Gibbous moon phase when the moon is increasing in light and is more than half lit
Full Moon moon phase when the moon is fully lit
Waning Gibbous moon phase when the moon is decreasing in light and is more than half lit
Third Quarter moon phase when the moon is seen as half lit from the Earth following the Full Moon
Waning Crescent moon phase when the moon is decreasing in light and is less than half lit
Waxing light is increasing, getting "bigger", and is on the right side of the moon
Waning light is decreasing, getting "smaller", and is on the left side of the moon
Lunar Cycle takes roughly 28 days to complete all phases of the moon
Revolution when an object moves around a center of mass or object, called an orbit
Counter-Clockwise the direction the Moon revolves around the Earth
Crescent Moon when the Moon is less than half-lit
Quarter Moon when the Moon is exactly half-lit
Gibbous Moon when the Moon is more than half-lit
