| asthenosphere | is the weak solid plastic-like part of the upper mantle of Earth. It lies below the lithosphere, |
| core | two part layer of the Earth below the mantle with a liquid outer core and a solid inner core. |
| density | the amount of space something takes up in an object or how thick something is |
| inner core | solid nickel and iron at the center of the Earth |
| outer core | liquid nickel and iron that surrounds the inner core where electricity is made by convection currents creating the Earth’s magnetic field |
| mantle | the thickest playdough-like or plastic-like layer of Earth between the crust and the core |
| crust | thin rocky ridge upper part of the lithosphere which is the outer most layer of the Earth |
| lithosphere | cool, ridged or hard layer of the Earth that is made of the crust and upper mantle that is broken into big pieces of rock or plates |
| plasticity | material in the asthenosphere that solid and yet can flow |
