Phenytoin- Nursing Interventions Monitor serum levels. Therapeutic levels not stable for 7-10 days. Diabetics- loss of glucose control Need Vit D & exposure to sunlight Monitor for hypocalcemia, folic acid deficiency (neuropathy, mental function) hypomagnesemia Urine- pink or red
