| Advocate | is one who defends or pleads a cause or issue on behalf of another. |
| Ethical deliemmas | are situations that do not have a clear right or wrong answer. |
| Autonomy | is another ethical principle; it refers to freedom of personal choice, a right to be independent and make decisions freely. |
| Beneficence | means doing good or acting for someone's good; this principle is one of primary importance to nurses. |
| nonmaleficence | which means to do no harm |
| justice | or the concept of what is fair. |
