Respiration

Apnea absence of breath
Dyspnea painful or difficulty breathing
Eupnea normal respiration
Orthopnea shortness of breath lying down. relieved by sitting up
Tachypnea more than 20 breaths per minute
Bradypnea less than 12 breaths per minute
Cheyne-Stokes alternating periods of of slow, irregular breaths and rapid breathing, plus periods of apnea (death rattle)
Regular Respiration same amount of time between breaths
Irregular Respiration varying amount of time between breaths
Respiratory Rate 12-20 breaths per minute (adults)
Inhalation/Inspiration inhaling of breath
Exhalation/Expiration exhaling of breath
