Blood Pressure

Blood Pressure measurement of the force of the blood against the walls of the arteries
Systolic (top) pressure of the blood on the artery while the heart is contracting
Diastolic (bottom)pressure of the blood on the walls of the artery while the heart is relaxed
Normal Range for Systolic 90-119
Normal Range of Diastolic 60-79
Hypotension too low. systolic less than 90 diastolic less than 60
Hypertension too high systolic more than 130 or higher diastolic more than 80 of higher
