Digital Footprint

Digital Footprint The information about a particular person that exists on the internet as a result of their online activity
Cookies A piece of data from a website that is stored within a web browser that the website can retrieve at a later time
Geolocation The process or technique of identifying the geographical location of a person or device by means of digital information processed via the internet
Metadata A set of data that describes and gives information about other data
Data Information that has been translated into a form that is efficient for movement or processing
Spreadsheet An electronic document in which data is arranged in the rows and columns of a grid and can be manipulated and used in calculations
Browser History A record of web pages recently visited by a computer user
Digital Literacy Having the skills you need to live, learn, and work in a society where communication and access to information is increasingly through digital technologies
Blog A regularly updated website or web page
Dossier A collection of documents about a particular person, event, or subject.
Derogatory Showing a critical or disrespectful attitude
Social Networking A network of social interactions and personal relationships
Viral The use of dedicated websites and applications to interact with other users, or to find people with similar interests to oneself
Profile A file or group of files stored on a user
Privacy Settings The settings associated with a personal account that regulates the amount of information that the account holder makes publicly available
