Symbiosis

| Parasitism | A symbiotic relationship where one organism benefits from the association and the other is harmed. |
| Parasite | In parasitism, the organism that does harm is the parasite. |

| Fleas living on and harming a dog. | An example of parasitism. |
| Mutualism | A symbiotic relationship where both organisms benefit from the association. |
| Good bacteria in a large intestine. | An example of mutualism. |
| Commensalism | A symbiotic relationship in which one species benefits and the other species is neither harmed or helped. |
| Barnacles on a whale. | An example of commensalism. |
