TermDefinition
Weather A condition of earth's atmosphere at a particular time and place.
Atmosphere A layer of gases that surrounds the planet.
Ozone A form of oxygen that has three oxygen atoms in each molecule instead of the usual two.
Water Vapor Water in the form of gas.
Pollutant Harmful substances in the air, water, or soil that can hurt you.
Photochemical smog Brown haze hr forms in city's by pollutants
Acid rain Acidic rain
Density The amount of mass by given volume of air.
Pressure The force pushing on an area or its surface.
Air pressure The result of the weight of a column of air pushing down at an area.
Barometer A instrument that is used to measure changes in air pressure.
Mercury barometer A glass tube opened at the bottom partly filled with mercury.
Aneroid barometer A metal chamber and it's sensitive to air pressure.
Altitude The distance above sea level of surface of oceans
Troposphere The inner, or lowest layer of earths atmosphere and controls the weather.
Stratosphere The ozone layer and is on top of the troposphere.
Mesosphere Above the stratosphere and it is the area of where meteoroids burn up
Thermosphere The outer most layer and it extends 80 kilometres.
Ionosphere Reflects radio active waves back to earth and it's above the thermospere
Aurora borealis Northern lights
Exosphere Outer layer of the thermosphere and extends 550 kilometres.
