| Mens sana in corpore sano | A healthy mind in a healthy body. |
| Minutia- singular Minutiae- plural | small - trivial or insignificant details. |
| Ne plus ultra | The ultimate - the perfect or most extreme example of its kind |
| Nolle prosequi | To be unwilling to pursue - we shall no longer prosecute, case being dropped. |
| Nolo contendere | No contest - a plea neither admitting or denying, accepting any consequences. |
| Non compos mentis | Of unsound mind |
| Non obstante | Notwithstanding, nevertheless - a judgement non obstante overturns a jury's verdict. |
| Parol | Spoken word - expressed by speech only., as opposed to evidenced by documents. |
| Nunc pro tune | Now for then - phrase applied to acts performed with retroactive effect. |
| Non sequitur | It does not follow - a conclusion that does not follow logically from what it is based on. |
| pendente lite | Awaiting litigation - generally refers to temporary relief granted while a case is still pending |
| Per capita | By head - according to the number of people involved, equal shares. |
| Per centum | Per one hundred - a percentage |
| Per curium | By the court - a decision made by a court acting as a whole, rather than an opinion written by a single judge |

| Post hoc | After this - after this time, hereafter |
| Post mortem | After death |
| Prima facie | At first face, on the face of it - how something appears on first impressions |
| Pro bono | Short for "Pro bono publica," "for the public good" - Services rendered free of charge |
| Pro forma | For the sake of form - a formality, perfunctory act or a standard document. |
