What do herbivores eat? Plants
How come predators are important? They control and maintain thepopulation of their prey
What is biomass? Total amount of living tissue in each trophic level
What is the difference of food chain and food web? Food chain show just 1 path as animals find food and food web shows how plants and animals are connected in many ways to survive
What is parasitism? Symbiotic relationship in which an organism goes onto a host and harms it. However, the host lives. For example, leach and mosquito
What is mutualism? Symbiotic relationship in which both organisms are benefited. For example, Bee pollinating a flower
What is commensalism? Symbiotic relationship in which one organism benfits and the other is neither harmed or helped. For example, sea anemone and a clown fish
What is predation? An organism captures and eats another organism. For example, lion, hunting a gazelle
Where does the food chain starts? Producer
How much energy are passed on to each trophic level? 10% of energy
What happens to the other energy? Lost or given off as heat
What feeds on the waste products or bodies of other organisms? Decomposers
