Ocean Water:Density

TermDefinition
Density mass of an object compared to its volume (Objects with greater density SINK, while objects with lesser density FLOAT)
Mass number of atoms that make up the object or substance.
Pycnocline the zone of rapid vertical change in density due to changes in temperature and salinity
Prefix "pycno" means "density"
Suffix "cline" means "change"
Surface Ocean Water Water that can be reached by sunlight rays, water is warmer and less dense in this area.
Deep Ocean Water Water that cannot be reached by the sunlight rays; water is colder and more dense in this area.
