TermDefinition
Temperature how "hot" or "cold" an object is but temperature is a measurement of the quantity of thermal energy matter has
Prefix "thermo" means "heat"
Suffix "cline" means "to change"
Latitude the distance north or south from the equator measured in degrees
Direct Sunlight (heat energy) area receives full strength rays of sunlight which increases temperature of water and air. (heat is concentrated and warmer)
Indirect Sunlight (heat energy) area receive less intense rays of sunlight which decreases the temperature of water and air. (heat is spread out and colder)
Rate of Evaporation how quickly liquid water will gain energy and changes into a gas called water vapor. (the greater the temperature, the faster the rate of evaporation)
water vapor is the gas (gaseous) phase of water.
