Soils

TermDefinition
Loam The best soil for supporting plant growth.
Erosion The movement of bits of rock or soil by wind and water.
Topsoil The layer of soil directly under humus that is most affected by erosion.
Humus This is organic material that is made up of dead plants and animals.
Weathering The process of breaking down rock into smaller pieces.
