Forms of Energy
| Term | Definition |

| Energy | Is the ability to make things move or change |
| Thermal Energy | The total energy of the moving particles in a substance |
| Heat Energy | Thermal energy that flows from hotter objects to cooler objects |
| Radiant Energy | Any energy transferred through electromagnetic waves |
| Solar Energy | The radiant energy that comes from the sun |
| Investigation | A close study of something to answer a question about it |
| Analyze | To look for patterns and trends in data |
| Interpet | To figure out what data shows and why it appears as it does |
| Chemical Energy | The energy stored in the bonds that hold matter together |
| Electrical Energy | The energy flowing in an electric circuit |
| Mechanical Energy | The energy due to the motion and position of an object |
| Kinetic Energy | The energy an object has because it is in motion |
| Potential Energy | Mechanical energy that is stored |
| Elastic Potential Energy | Potential energy that results from stretching or squeezing an object |
| Gravitational Potential Energy | The potential energy an object has because it id lifted to some height |
