CNA definitions - LIST 2

| Growth | Changes that occur physically as a person passes through life |
| Development | Changes that occur psychologically or socially as a person passes through life |
| Anatomy | Study of what body parts look like, where they are located,how big they are, how they connect to other body parts |
| Physiology | Study of how the body parts work |
| Culture | The beliefs, values and traditions that are customary to a group of people. (includes religious and spiritual beliefs) |
| Values | A cherished belief or principle |
| Anterior | Toward the front of the body |
| Posterior | Toward the back of the body |
| Lateral | Further away from the mid-sagittal plane of the body |
| Medial | Closer to the mid-sagittal plane of the body |
| OBRA | Omnibus Budget Reconciliation ACT |
| Holiistic | Care of the whole person, physically and emotionally |
| Objective | Obtained directly through measurements or from the five senses |
| OSHA | Occupational Safety and Health Administration |
| Subjective | Information that cannot be objectively measured |
| Attitude | The side of ourselves that we display to the world, communicating outwardly how we feel about things |
| Assault | Threatening or attempting to touch a person without the person's consent |
| Living Will | Type of advance directive, allows the person to give instructions about what medical treatments they would or would not want done in an effort to save their life. |
| Negligent | fails to do what is "careful and reasonable" in a given situation |
| Ethics | Moral principles or standards that govern conduct. |
