Seasons, Etc.

Earth's seasons, revolutions, rotations, hemispheres, etc.

TermDefinition
Rotation Turning or spinning on an axis.
Revolution An object moving around another object in an orbital path.
Hemispheres The equator divides the earth into 2 equal hemispheres. The northern hemisphere is located above the equator while the southern is below it. The different hemispheres have different seasons.
Solstice Occurs 2 times per year when the reaches its lowest and highest point at noon.
Equinox Occurs 2 times per year when the sun crosses the plane of the equator.
Earth's Tilt The tilt is at angle of 23.5 degrees on it's axis.
