What is Air Mass? A large region of air that has similar temperature and humidity

WHat is a low pressure closure? Low pressure air is surrounded by a high pressure air
When do tornados begin? When warm air moves upward in a thunderhead, creating an area of pressure
Why do Hurricanes form? by warm air rising and cool air replacing the warm air causing a rotating wind
when is a tropical storm classified as a hurricane? when wind speed reaches more that 19 kilometers or 74 miles per hour
What is a storm surge A bulge of water in an ocean
What is a cyclone? a storm with a low pressure center and a counter clockwise rotation
What is a monsoon? A seasonal wind that brings heavy rain
In what two places do monsoons occur? Southeast Asia and Southwestern US
What is TULE FOG Water vapor the air contained condenses and forms ground fog
what is advection fog? forms when warm humid air flows over cold ground or water
what causes Thurnderstorms a rainstorm that includes lightning and thunder
what is Lightning? The spark caused when the electricity in a thunder head dishcharges
Why does Thunder occur? Heat makes the air expand violently.
What is the sound of Rapidly expanding air called? Thunder
