Animal and plant cell vocabulary

TermDefinition
Cell The smallest unit of an organism.
Cell membrane The thin barrier that forms the outer surface of the cytoplasm of the cell and controls what comes into and out of the cell.
Cell wall The tough, protective barrier that surrounds the outer membrane of some types of cells
Chloroplast An organelle in plant cells hat is the site of photosynthesis
Cytoplasm A jelly like substances
Magnification Making something bigger
Nucleus The brain of a cell.
