nucleus where DNA is stored in a eukaryotic cell
nucleolus
ribosome where proteins are made
cytoplasm clear gel-like fluid in cells that holds the organelles
vesicle transport proteins throughout the cell
rough ER organelle that hugs the nucleus and has ribosomes attached
golgi apparatus packages and modifies proteins
vacuole storage for the cell
lysosome contains digestive enzymes to break down harmful substances
chloroplast organelle in plants that uses light energy to make glucose in a process called photosynthesis
mitochondria breaks down food into usable energy in a process called cellular respiration
cytoskeleton network of proteins found within the cytoplasm for support and structure
cilia short numerous hair-like projections that move in wave patterns for movement
flagella long hair-like projections used for movement in cells; uses a whip-like motion
centrioles made of microtubules, appear during cell division, help cell divide by pulling chromosomes apart
smooth ER makes lipids, is attached to rough ER and has no
