what is a shield volcano? a sloping mountain.
what is a cinder cone? a steep coned shape hill.

what is a caldera? a large hole at the top of a volcano.
what is a volcanic neck? hardened magma in a volcanoes pipe.
what is a dike? a slab of volcanic rock.
what is a sill? a slab of volcanic rock that squeezes between layers of rock.
what is a batholith? a mass of rock.
what is a magma chamber? the pocket beneath a volcano.
what is a pipe? a long tube where magma moves from.
what is a vent? the opening through which leaves the volcano
what is a lava flow? the area covered by lava which pours out of the vent.
what is a crater? a bowl shaped area around a volcano.
what is a silica? the material that is formed by oxygen.
what is a pahoehoe? hot moving lava.
what is aa? cool moving lava.
what is pyroclastic flow? the expulsion of ash,cinders,bombs, and gases.
what is active? a volcano that will erupt.
what is dormant? a volcano that is sleeping or might erupt.
what is extinct? a volcano that wont erupt.
what is a hot spring? a pool formed by groundwater.
what is a geyser? fountain of water and steam.
what is geothermal energy? heat energy in earth's interior.
