DESCRIBE OF PARTS OF SPEECH
Term | Definition |

NOUN | A noun is a word that names something, such as a person, place, thing, or idea. In a sentence, nouns can play the role of subject, direct object, indirect object, subject complement, object complement, appositive, or adjective. |
ADJECTIVE | a word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it. |
ADVERBS | a word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree, etc. (e.g., gently, quite, then, there ). |
PRONOUN | denoting one or more people or things already mentioned or assumed to be common knowledge |
Nominalization | Nominalization is a process whereby a word that belongs to another part of speech comes to be used as a noun. In French and Spanish, for example, adjectives frequently act as nouns referring to people who have the characteristics denoted by the adjective |
