SCIENCE VOCABULARY

| SCIENCE | It is the study of the nature and behavior of natural things and the knowledge that we obtain about them. |
| FORCE | is a push or pull upon an object resulting from the object's interaction with another object. |
| PUSH | is the force that moves an object away from something |
| PULL | is the force of bringing an object closer. |
| MOTION | is a change in position compared to a place or an object that is not moving. |
| POSITION | The way in which something or someone is placed or arranged. |
| SCIENTIST | a person who is studying or has expert knowledge of one or more of the natural or physical sciences. |
| BALANCED FORCE | When two equal forces act in opposite directions the result is that the forces are balanced and there is no motion. |
| UNBALANCED FORCE | When one force is stronger than the other the result is motion. |
| PREDICT | is a statement that someone makes about what they think is going to happen |
| GRAVITY | is the force by which a planet or other body draws objects toward its center. The force of gravity keeps all of the planets in orbit around the sun. |
| PATTERN | Something that repeats itself many times. |
| HYPOTHESIS | An idea that you will test with an experiment. |
| DATA | Information collected from an experiment or survey. |
