Digestive TermDefinition
mouth food is broken into smaller parts and mixed with saliva. First step in digestion.
esophagus tubelike structure that connects the mouth and the stomach.
stomach baglike organ where food is mixed with digestive juices and turns into thick liquid.
small intestine organ where food is mixed with more digestive juices, broken down into nutrients, and absorbed into the body through the villi.
large intestine organ that removes water from waste material and holds solid waste until it can leave the body.
nutrient part of food that cells use.
villi tiny fingerlike lining of small intestine.
esophagus tubelike strurcetures that connect the mouth to the stomache
carbo-hydrates netrients that supply the body w/ major energy source
