Mixtures & Solutions
| Term | Definition |

| Ingredient | One part of a mixture or solution. |
| Solution | A mixture of one substance dissolved evenly in another substance, for example salt water or lemonade. |
| Mixture | Two or more substances combined where they each keep their own properties and can be easily separated. |
| Magnet | Tool that can be used to separate mixtures containing substances that are magnetic. |
| Physical Change | Make different without changing what a material is made of such as breaking glass, melting an ice cube, or mixing red and yellow marbles. |
| Solubility | The ability of a solid to be dissolved in a liquid. |
| Dissolve | To mix evenly and break down and spread out in a liquid. |
| Separate | To sort into individual parts or substances. |
| Evaporation | Can be used to separate the substances in some solutions because the liquid evaporates and the solid is left behind. |
| Filter | Tool that is used to separate a mixture by trapping larger particles and allowing smaller particles to pass through. |
