Scientific Tools and Measurement Notes

TermDefinition
Description a statement that reports what has been observed.
Measurement a description that includes a number and a unit.
Standard same for everybody.
SI Units The modern metric system.
Prefixes one or more letters added to the beginning of a SI unit to express a very large or small number.
Scientific Notation a short way of representing very large or very small numbers.
Accuracy a description of how close a measurement is to the true value of the quantity measured.
Precision the exactness of a measurement.
Quantitative data refers to the quantity or number of something.
Qualitative data refers to a quality something has.
