Models and Simulations Notes

TermDefinition
scientific model shows the structure of an object, system, or concept.
Simulations use models to imitate the function behavior or process of whatever the models represent.
limitation how a model is not like the real thing.
physical model represents the physical structure of an object or system they represent.
scale the relationship between the measurements of the model and the real object.
Scale models physical models that are much smaller or much larger than the real thing.
Life-size models physical models that are the same size as the real thing.
mathematical model uses different forms of data to represent the way a system or process works.
conceptual model a representation of how parts of a system are related or organized.
