Models and Simulations Notes
| Term | Definition |

| scientific model | shows the structure of an object, system, or concept. |
| Simulations | use models to imitate the function behavior or process of whatever the models represent. |
| limitation | how a model is not like the real thing. |
| physical model | represents the physical structure of an object or system they represent. |
| scale | the relationship between the measurements of the model and the real object. |
| Scale models | physical models that are much smaller or much larger than the real thing. |
| Life-size models | physical models that are the same size as the real thing. |
| mathematical model | uses different forms of data to represent the way a system or process works. |
| conceptual model | a representation of how parts of a system are related or organized. |
