TermDefinition
experiment an organized procedure used to study something under controlled conditions.
Observation the process of gathering information by using the senses.
hypothesis a testable idea or explanation that can be used to design and implement an investigation.
independent variable the factor that is deliberately adjusted in an investigation.
dependent variable the factor that changes as a result of adjusting the independent variable.
Data information gathered by observation or experimentation that can be used in calculating or reasoning.
Repetition occurs when an activity is repeated by the same person.
Replication occurs when an activity is repeated by a different person.
