Life Cycles (Insects) TEK 2.10C

TermDefinition
Butterfly A flying insect that has a slender body and large colored wings.
Grasshopper Leaping insects that are found all over the world.
Insect Life Cycle Egg>Larva>Pupa>Adult
Stage A single step in a life cycle.
Life Cycle The stages in an organism’s life from birth to death.
Egg The beginning stage of a life cycle.
Larva An early form of any animal that at birth or hatching is very different from its parent.
Pupa A stage in the life cycle of some insects in which it is enclosed in a cocoon or case.
Adult The final stage in as insect life cycle.
Nymph A young insect that looks like the adult but doesn't have wings.
